Becker & Poliakoff Expands New York City Metro Area Presence With New Red Bank, NJ Office

Firm Extends Corporate & Securities and Broker-Dealer Legal Services to New Jersey Financial Community; Becker & Poliakoff Partner Robert I. Rabinowitz to Manage New Office; Law Firm Partner Michael J. Romer to Lead NYC Real Estate and Banking Practice

FL -- (Marketwire) -- 07/09/09 -- Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a diversified commercial law firm with more than 120 attorneys in Florida, New York City, Nassau, Bahamas, Prague and affiliated international offices, today announced the opening of its newest office serving the New Jersey-based banking and financial services community.

Located in the financial district of Red Bank, New Jersey, Becker & Poliakoff's newest office will serve to complement the firm's existing team of Corporate and Securities lawyers located in the firm's New York City and Florida offices. Managing the New Jersey office for Becker & Poliakoff will be Robert I. Rabinowitz, a law partner and attorney in the firm's corporate and securities law group specializing in broker-dealer, investment advisory and securities arbitrations.

Becker & Poliakoff also announced today that commercial and residential real estate attorney Michael J. Romer has joined the firm as a partner, managing Becker & Poliakoff's real estate and banking law practice in the New York area from the firm's office in New York City's financial district.

Established in 2007, when Becker & Poliakoff joined forces with the 25-year-old boutique corporate and securities law firm Goldstein & DiGioia, LLP, the New York City office of Becker & Poliakoff specializes in corporate, securities, and business services to public and private companies, issuers and underwriters, broker-dealers and other financial services firms.

Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff in February 2009, Robert I. Rabinowitz served for more than 20 years as general counsel for a publicly traded, national, independent broker/dealer based in Red Bank. While with the brokerage firm, Rabinowitz managed the regulatory compliance and corporate governance functions, provided advice and guidance on federal, state and SRO compliance and regulatory issues, and represented the firm in regulatory investigations, civil litigation and arbitration proceedings.

Michael J. Romer practiced law in the areas of real estate and banking for ten years prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff. Romer has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions. He regularly represents clients in purchase/sale transactions leasing matters and finance transactions, and has experience representing developers and cooperative and condominium boards.
