Professional Experience
Marc D. Wigder is an attorney with the Firm’s Commercial Real Estate/Project Development Practice Group. He has focused his practice exclusively in commercial real estate transactions with a focus on "fractured" condominium transactions, national and international project development, real estate contract negotiations, real estate finance and closings, 1031 exchanges, residential and commercial condominium documentation and supervising developer-controlled boards through turnover, commercial leasing, hospitality law, preparation of Interstate Land Sales Act (HUD) filings, and local and national condominium registrations. His clients include real estate investors, and institutional and private owners and developers in Florida and New York.
Marc’s broad experience includes serving as Corporate Counsel to Bayview Financial’s Real Estate Investment Division as well as an attorney in private practice, and as a real estate investor and developer. At Bayview Financial, he worked on all legal and compliance aspects of the company’s real estate investment and development projects. His duties there included, among other things, conducting negotiations, drafting and/or reviewing all documentation concerning the Divisions’ national and international real estate Projects; advising senior management as to real estate, development and construction issues, participating in all acquisition or disposition due diligence and risk management including negotiation/drafting purchase and sale agreements, residential and commercial condominium documentation, supervision of the closings of end units, multi-state registration of local, national, and international projects including the corporate organization and the negotiation and drafting of all project documentation related to a Cruise Ship “Condominium” to be flagged by a five-star luxury hotel brand, bulk purchase agreements, broker listing agreements, consulting agreements, construction contracts and related issues, maintenance/repair contracts, landlord/tenant issues, occupancy agreements, and shopping center and office building leases.
While in private practice in New York, Marc represented buyers/sellers/investors in all types of commercial and residential real estate transactions, with a concentration in investment properties.
As a real estate investor and developer, Marc has been actively involved in several development projects as a principal, including mixed- use commercial, triple net retail properties and residential properties in New York and Florida, and office building redevelopment, construction, market repositioning, lease-up, and management. Marc remains an active real estate investor with interests in several commercial and residential properties in New York and Florida.
