Professional Experience
John Townsend is an experienced civil trial attorney who has been practicing in Florida since 1981. Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., he managed his own firm John P. Townsend, P.A. for fifteen years in Ft. Walton Beach. His varied experience in civil law and litigation includes personal injury and wrongful death, premises and product liability, appellate law, and family law matters including divorce, child custody, and child support. He has more than two dozen reported cases in a number of different areas of law.
Activities & Memberships
Active in many professional and civic organizations, Mr. Townsend serves on the Florida Bar's Continuing Legal Education Committee and is an active member of the Okaloosa-Walton Bar Association where he served as its president, vice president and secretary. He was also involved in organizing a local family law section of local attorneys in Okaloosa County and served as chairman of that organization for approximately two years.
