Professional Experience
Gary Rosen is the Managing Shareholder of Becker & Poliakoff, a Florida based law firm with 145 lawyers and lobbyists in 13 offices in Florida and in New York City, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. and internationally. His term as Managing Shareholder, the Firm's Chief Executive Officer, began February 1, 2012. He joined Becker & Poliakoff in 1982 as a young litigation attorney who later became the Chair of the firm’s 30+ attorney litigation practice. He has served on the Firm's Management Committee since its inception in 2006 and led the restructuring of the firm's practices into several clearly defined and structured practice groups. He also chaired the strategic planning effort among firm leaders, and initiated the firm's attorney enhancement program. He has played a leading role in the recruitment, marketing and overall operations of firm for many years.

A Board Certified Business Litigation attorney, Gary has handled complex litigation for clients in the public and private sectors including county and city governments, developers, builders, corporations, condominium associations, financial institutions and physicians. Gary also represents national corporate clients in the protection of intellectual property rights through civil prosecution of trademark and copyright infringement. He has extensive trial experience in courts throughout the country and he has obtained several multimillion dollar jury verdicts, judgments and settlements in favor of claimants in cases.

Representative Experience:

  • Secured a jury verdict in his client's (a physician) favor against a national insurance carrier which denied coverage on a disability claim.
  • Defended a national home builder in a multi-million dollar federal class action fraud case resulting in a favorable settlement to our client.
  • Defended and prosecuted federal securities fraud class actions.
  • Defended clients in a federal civil action in Colorado brought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. for bank fraud arising from the failure of a state chartered bank.
  • Defended foreign corporations in California trial and appellate courts in a five year, multimillion dollar breach of contract and fraud case resulting in summary judgment in favor of clients, which was affirmed on appeal.
  • Represented nationally prominent intellectual property owners in federal court trademark and copyright infringement actions, which have regularly required litigating expedited motions for preliminary injunction.
  • Represented plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court actions involving claims of violations of trade secrets and breaches of restrictive covenants.
  • Tried several lengthy cases before juries resulting in verdicts and mid-trial settlements favorable to the firm's clients.

Honors and Awards
Gary is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation only, trial lawyer honorary society comprised of the most experienced and effective litigators throughout the United States. Membership is limited to less than one half of one percent of American lawyers. Florida Trend magazine recognized him among its "Legal Elite" in the area of Business Litigation. This designation was based upon a poll of Florida attorneys, who selected peers in the top 2% of their respective practice areas. He was also selected as a "Florida Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine which named Florida's top lawyers as chosen by their peers.
