Professional Experience
Cedric McMinn is a Government Relations Consultant in the Firm's Government Law & Lobbying Practice Group. Since August 2006, he has advocated for public and private sector clients during Florida 's Legislative Sessions with a focus on issues relating to local government, education, and health care. He has held numerous political and governmental positions. He served as the Political/Faith Deputy Director for the 2008 Barack Obama/Joe Biden Presidential Campaign, as a volunteer coordinator for the John Kerry Presidential Campaign, Jim Davis/Daryl Jones Gubernatorial Campaign, as a Miami-Dade County Elections poll worker, and as Legislative Assistant to State Representative Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall in the Florida House of Representatives.
Cedric has also held numerous leadership positions. He serves as the President for the Miami-Dade Young Democrats, where he has hosted and planned political forums and fundraisers to help elect young leaders. Because of his achievements, he was selected as a Page to attend the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was named the 2009 Young Democrat of the Year. Cedric is accustomed to working with elected officials in both parties. He has also coordinated Legislative Town Hall Meetings, educational workshops, and press conferences to address a myriad of issues that affect their diverse communities.
In college, he served as Lower Division Representative for Student Government Association, President of the Interfraternity Council, Vice-President of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, an Orientation Leader, and Resident Assistant to name a few. Because of his extensive involvement, he earned the distinguished title of “Mr. FIU”. He continues to contribute his time at numerous events such as host of FIU 's Freshman Convocation, judge at FIU Homecoming events, and alumni volunteer for FIU 's Dance Marathon.
