Professional Experience
Andrew Berger represents both domestic and international clients with respect to the tax and non-tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, financing transactions, joint ventures, recapitalizations, ESOP sales, and general corporate matters. In addition, he regularly advises clients in connection with all aspects of estate planning and administration and asset preservation, including the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, family limited partnerships, insurance trusts and other sophisticated planning instruments. His broad experience in corporate, tax and estate planning matters has uniquely positioned him to counsel clients with both their business operations and their personal planning needs, which are often closely interconnected.
Prior to moving to Florida in 2004, he worked in the New York office of a leading international law firm, where he gained extensive experience representing multinational corporations in connection with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general transactional matters.
Activities and Memberships
Mr. Berger is a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Bar, Tax Section and has served in such roles as the Chair of the New Tax Lawyers Committee, Co-Chair of the Section Administration Committee and Vice-Chair of the Sponsors Committee. Mr. Berger is also a member of the Florida Bar, International Section and the American Bar Association, Tax Section.
