Professional Experience
Charbel J Barakat is an attorney in the Firm's Real Estate Group. He has significant experience representing leading institutional lenders and major foreign and domestic borrowers in connection with the real estate elements of complex corporate, leveraged, and project finance transactions, as well as in general corporate and financial restructuring transactions. Mr. Barakat has advised leading private equity sponsors, institutional lenders and Fortune 500 corporations in connection with strategic real estate acquisitions and divestitures, bankruptcy-related asset sales, and strategic sourcing and technology transactions. He has also represented major public and privately-held companies in sophisticated commercial leasing transactions. He is a fluent Spanish speaker and has regularly advised Spanish and Latin America-based entities in a variety of real estate transactions. Mr. Barakat was previously associated with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, in New York City.
